JLG TO PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL SAFETY STAND-DOWN

JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company and a leading global manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telehandlers, today announced it will participate in National Safety Stand-Down Week May 8th – May 12th, 2017.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other federal safety agencies have designated the aforementioned week as their fourth annual National Safety Stand-Down. The event is a nationwide effort to remind and educate employers and workers across the construction industry of the serious dangers of falls. The full week is dedicated to encouraging employers to pause during their workday to give topic discussions, demonstrations and training on how to recognize hazards and to review the company’s safety policies and goals.

During the 2017 National Safety Stand-Down week, JLG® will be leading a number of discussions at customer locations throughout Virginia, New Jersey, Illinois, Tennessee and Oregon to discuss and demonstrate safe use of the company’s Low Level Access Equipment, including its EcoLift™ and LiftPod® product lines. These products are increasing in popularity for facilities maintenance, oftentimes replacing the use of traditional ladders and scaffolding to complete work at height.

“Education, advocacy and feedback is essential to facilitating a culture around safety,” says Randy Marzicola, Director – Business Development JLG Industries, Inc. “The National Safety Stand-Down is an opportunity for JLG to enhance communication about the importance of safety on job sites across the country. We are very excited to continue our support and participation through key job site events across the U.S.”

More than four million workers participated in National Safety Stand-Downs from 2014 – 2016. More are anticipated during throughout the 2017 event. To guide their efforts, OSHA has developed the official National Safety Stand-Down web site with information on conducting a successful stand-down. After events take place, employers will receive a personalized certificate of participation.

JLG Launches Industry-First 150-Foot Boom Lift

The 1500SJ is the Largest Self-Propelled Telescopic Boom Lift Available

JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company and a leading manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telescopic material handlers, announced today that it is adding a new model to the JLG line of Ultra Series boom lifts. The new 1500SJ is a 150-foot telescopic boom lift that delivers greater work envelope flexibility and superior reach at elevated heights.

“We are proud to introduce the 1500SJ to the industry and our customers, providing them with a lift that offers greater flexibility and tremendous reach,” said Chris Mellott, JLG Industries vice-president – sales and market development for the Americas. “By providing the largest self-propelled telescopic boom lift, we are addressing a previously unmet need for customers who are looking for a 150-foot boom that requires only a weight permit – along with the support and reliability they have come to expect from JLG.”

The 1500SJ is the first boom lift that elevates operators 150 feet requiring only a weight permit. It includes a telescopic jib that extends up to 25 feet for additional vertical and horizontal reach.  In addition, the 1500SJ delivers industry-leading terrainability and access to more work with the industry’s best work envelope.

Standard steel hoods provide improved durability, reduced cost of ownership and greater long-term value.  In addition, operators receive key information with new graphic LCD displays in the platform to further increase ease of operation. As with all Ultra Booms, the 1500SJ delivers dual 1,000/500 lb. capacity, three steering modes and advanced systems to assist in safely positioning the platform.

JLG Telehandlers Now Equipped With Firestone Tires

Exclusive Alliance with Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, Off Road Tire division puts DuraForce MH tires on all JLG telehandler

JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company [NYSE:OSK] and a leading manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telescopic material handlers, recently announced an agreement with Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, Off Road Tire division for the exclusive supply of the Firestone DuraForce MH tires on JLG®, Lull® and SkyTrak®  branded telehandlers.

“JLG and Bridgestone Americas Off Road collaborated to create the Firestone DuraForce MH that will set a new industry standard by increasing tire life up to 300%,” said Brian Boeckman, JLG Industries global director of product management for telehandlers. “The result is a tire that dramatically improves the cost of ownership for all three telehandler brands.”

The low profile tire design minimizes the opportunity for sidewall damage while the unique self-cleaning tread coupled with low ground bearing pressure optimizes performance in rough terrain conditions. Fewer tire and rim combinations mean fewer parts to stock and reduced inventory-carrying costs for JLG distribution.
