Daily Equipment Company Expands Operations in Baton Rouge, La

Executives and senior management from JCB dealer Daily Equipment Company broke ground recently for a new facility in Baton Rouge, La.  Located at 2561 Rome Drive in Baton Rouge, the newest Daily Equipment Company dealership is an impressive 11,000 square feet and boasts six-service bays.

According to founder Emmerson Daily, it is the right time for Daily Equipment to open a new location. “Over the years, we’ve adopted a slow, steady growth strategy that allows us to focus on customer satisfaction as our primary goal,” Daily explained.  “We see Baton Rouge as a growing market that offers great potential for our company as we enter our twenty-fifth year in business.”

Daily’s many years of industry experience started well before he formed his own company.  After attending the University of Illinois and receiving a degree in mechanical engineering, Daily went to work for a large construction equipment manufacturer. After approximately ten years, Daily decided he wanted to work for an equipment dealer and moved to Jackson, Miss., to become general manager of parts and service for a local dealership. Several years later, the dealership sold its lift truck division to Daily and Daily Equipment Company was formed in 1985 with 45 employees.

The dealership focused solely on materials handling equipment for the first twenty years of its existence before extending its product offering to include mobile rail car movers and construction equipment in the mid-2000s.  Today, with the Baton Rouge location, Daily Equipment Company has 165 employees spread over six locations.  In addition to the Jackson, Miss. headquarters and the new Baton Rouge store, other dealerships are located in Biloxi, Miss.; Shreveport, La.; New Orleans, La; and Lake Charles, La.  Daily continues to be an active participant in his company’s success and works closely with his highly motivated and aggressive management team.

When asked why Daily Equipment Company became a member of the JCB family of North American dealers, construction equipment general manager Brad Tyra states it is a shared belief system. “JCB is a privately-held, family-owned business and we find that very appealing,” Tyra said. “At Daily Equipment, we strive to keep the needs of our customers ahead of our own needs, and so does JCB.  Unlike most large companies, JCB truly makes customer satisfaction a priority, and we believe in that one hundred percent.”

Emmerson Daily agrees with Tyra’s observations. “Customer service is what sets certain businesses apart from the rest,” Daily said. “At Daily Equipment, we take our job—supporting our customers and providing them with the best possible products—very seriously. That is why we can build new facilities to accommodate their needs in a difficult economy.”
