Cat Auction Services October 27 Auction Set for Houston

Cat Auction Services recently announced that it will hold an unreserved public auction in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, October 27, beginning at 9 a.m. at Houston Raceway Park (2525 FM565 South, Baytown, Texas). This marks the company’s fourth Houston-based auction in the past year-and-a-half and will include a broad assortment of heavy equipment from a number of manufacturers.

Featuring a wide variety of excavators, loaders, compactors and specialty trucks, among other equipment, the Houston event expected to draw bidders from across the United States and around the world. Interested buyers are invited to view the entire equipment list and detailed TA-1 level inspection reports online prior to the event by visiting www.catauctions.com. Real-time online bidding will be available on the day of the auction through the company’s website.

Cat Auction Services President Rick Albin said, “Houston is one of our premier auction sites. It seems our message of buyer-be-informed transparency, as illustrated by our industry-leading inspection reports, has resonated strongly with buyers and consigners in the immediate south Texas and Louisiana area, as well our customers in Mexico. We’re excited to be back at Houston Raceway Park. The drag strip is a perfect setting for our innovative Leaderboard® display and accommodates our unique auction-theater setup.”

Albin continued, “We are committed to bringing Houston another high-caliber auction that provides great value to our buyers and sellers, and to giving our customers an auction experience unlike any other. Our inspection reports and warranty options, and the wide range of Caterpillar services we provide, give us a leg up on offering quality used iron. Buyer confidence is high at Cat Auctions because buyers know what they’re getting. And that translates into the fairest prices for all involved.”

Albin went on to describe the options available to online bidders. “We’d love to have everybody on-site in Houston, but we know that’s not possible. Our online bidding system, along with our video of equipment in action, allows those who cannot make it to the drag strip the chance to interact with the auction in a way that is similar to what our on-site participants experience.”

Prior to the October Houston auction, Cat Auction Services will be in Denver, Colo., on September 30. In addition to its Houston auction earlier this year, Cat Auction Services has recently held auctions in Minneapolis, Minn., and Des Moines, Iowa. Cat Auction Services entered the heavy equipment auction arena in late 2008 and has been active across the country. Reviews from all corners have been positive, and the auctions have drawn buyers from 49 states and nearly three dozen countries.

“Our dealer partners have made it clear that they expect top-notch auctions that provide value to both the buyers and sellers,” Albin said. “The service we provide complements and enhances the relationship between Cat dealers and their customers.” Cat Auction Services was formed through a unique partnership of Cat dealers with the endorsement of Caterpillar Inc. The addition of Cat Auction Services to the portfolio of services available to Cat customers and others in the heavy equipment industry builds upon the company’s existing customer loyalty.
