Construction Writers Association Announces 2010-2011 Board of Directors

The Construction Writers Association (CWA) announced its leadership team for 2010-2011:  Tracie Christie, president; Bill Wilson, first vice president; Marc Ramsey, second vice president; and Susan Garritano, immediate past president.

Christie is the associate director of awards and marketing for the National Asphalt Pavement Association in Lanham, MD; Wilson is editorial director of Roads & Bridges magazine in Arlington Heights, IL; Ramsey serves as the communications manager for The Surety & Fidelity Association, Washington, DC; and Garritano is the national communications manager for McCarthy Building Companies Inc., St Louis, MO.

Christie commented that the board will focus on “membership retention and growth, as well as providing members with the information and the resources they need to navigate these tough economic times.” Christie added that “our annual conference in Chicago “Embracing the New Normal” will bring together top industry leaders and journalists in two days of challenging discussions and dialogue.” The conference dates are October 25-26.

Other members of the CWA Board of Directors include Tina Grady Barbaccia, executive editor of Better Roads magazine, Des Plaines, IL; Jeri Briegge Lamerton, public relations/advertising manager for The Charles Machine Works, Perry, OK; Joanne Costin, president of Costin Custom Communications, Palatine, IL; Patti Flesher, media relations manager, Portland Cement Association,  Skokie, IL; Rolf Fuessler, president, Fuessler Group, Boston, MA; Ryan Johnson, public relations associate, Two Rivers Marketing, Des Moines, IA; Jay Schneider, freelance writer and former senior editor of BD&C magazine, Chicago, IL; Rod Sutton, editor-in-chief, Construction Equipment magazine, Oakbrook, IL; and Tudor Van Hampton, Midwest bureau chief, Engineering News Record, Chicago, IL.
