The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) announces that the sixth annual Careers in Construction Week will take place Oct. 18-22, 2010.
Careers in Construction Week is designed to increase public awareness of the hard work and contributions of our nation’s craft professionals. It promotes recognition among parents, teachers, guidance counselors, and students of the rewarding career opportunities available in construction.
Contractors, schools, and industry associations throughout the country will conduct career fairs and various construction-related activities to help promote construction career opportunities in their communities or community.
As part of this week, NCCER will debut the 2010 Build Your Future career recruitment video on its website www.byf.org. The BYF video is distributed free of charge and features interviews from real craft professionals who are already experiencing a rewarding construction career. This year’s video will feature such construction projects as the Marlins baseball stadium and the NASCAR Hall of Fame and is 15 minutes in length.
Duplicate copies of the BYF video will be available after the broadcast and can be ordered via the website. Organizations planning an event during this week are encouraged to submit their event online at byf.org.
